Land zoning and prices now reflect what can actually be built
Blueprint-specific zoning, usable rental buffers, and economy-aware municipal prices make choosing land more predictable.
Municipal land has received a practical zoning and pricing review:
- Every standalone business blueprint now has an explicit set of valid zones. Apartments, offices, sawmills, stores, factories, mines, and other businesses no longer inherit overly broad category rules. - Construction validates zoning on the server as well as in the build screen, without changing or cancelling existing player buildings. - A city's automatic rental buffer now counts only parcels large enough for the buildings that use that zone. Vacant reserve can be rezoned when another land use has excess stock, but cities still have finite space and can eventually fill up. - Open-space parcels are reserved for future civic uses rather than being advertised as ordinary business land. - New municipal rents and auction reserves now respond to zoning, location, city prosperity, population, wages, parcel size, and local land traits. Signed leases keep their agreed price, and an auction's reserve is frozen once bidding begins.
Renting remains the fastest way to start a business. Weekly purchase auctions draw only from land that is not needed to protect the usable rental reserve.
