Safe mode for your automations

Automation Quality of life

Going away for a bit? Safe mode stops your automations taking on anything new, without changing a single setting — and everything you have already committed to still finishes.

Automations are useful right up until you stop watching them. Safe mode lets you park them without unpicking anything.

It stops: new purchases, hires, production runs, shipments, market orders and contracts. A repeating production plan stays saved — it just will not start its next run.

It does not stop: production runs and shipments already under way, which finish normally. Rent, wages and contracts you have signed carry on being paid. Nothing you configured is deleted, so turning safe mode off puts everything back exactly as it was.

It takes about six hours to come into effect, and you can call it off any time before then. That delay is deliberate — safe mode is for stepping away, not for freezing your position the moment a deal goes against you.

You will find it on the Basic Manager panel, whether or not you use the manager itself.
