Shortage alerts arrive on the Newswire
The Newswire can now report demand-backed national and global resource shortages after production remains blocked by missing supplies. National alerts may add an approximate uncovered value in the exchange's local currency.
The Newswire now distinguishes a genuine resource shortage from an item that simply sees little market activity. An alert appears only after production has remained blocked by missing supplies across multiple game days, so the story is backed by observed demand.
- National shortages. Each alert shows how much of the observed requirement the national exchange could cover when the story was filed. When a reliable local price reference is available, it also gives an approximate value for the uncovered requirement in that exchange's local currency. - Global shortages. These alerts compare the observed requirement with available supply across all exchanges and report worldwide coverage. Prices in different currencies are not blended into a misleading global value. - Focused public reporting. Stories identify the resource and market scope, but do not name affected businesses or state how many are involved.
Every figure describes the market when the alert was filed. Later production, shipments, and exchange orders can change availability.
