Brazil opens for business

World Economy Buildings

Brazil is the ninth playable country: 105 cities across all 27 states, its own currency (the real, BRL), a São Paulo exchange, national and city carriers, 64 airports and 14 seaports. Soybeans arrive with it — a new Crop Farm recipe feeding a Soybean Crush Plant, tofu and cattle feed — and Brazil's highlands are the world's only source of coffee beans.

You can now found a corporation in Brazil. It is provisioned the way every other country was, only all at once: 105 cities in all 27 states, each with citizens, a municipality, land and a regional government; a national treasury, central bank and mint; three banks; the São Paulo Commodity Exchange with an opening catalog priced from production costs; a national carrier, six city logistics operators, 64 cargo airports and 14 seaports from Manaus to Rio Grande. Brazil trades in the real (BRL), and its grants, welfare and tax schedules are its own.

- Soybeans. Any Crop Farm on fertile farmland can now grow soybeans. A new Soybean Crush Plant presses them into Soybean Oil, sold by the bottle in supermarkets, and Soy Meal. A Livestock Ranch's new Feedlot Cattle recipe turns soy meal and less corn into more cattle, and the Food Processing Plant can make Tofu. - Brazil's own ground. The Cerrado Savanna trait lifts every producer in the central-plateau states, and the Tropical Highlands trait — found only in Brazil's coffee states — is required for the new Coffee Plantation, the first and only source of coffee beans in the world. Every coffee shop on every exchange has been buying an import until now. - Where to look. Brazil is on the World map and in the country picker when you incorporate; its cities, regions and traits are on the Economy pages like any other country's.
