Hotel reception and variable stays
Hotel reception now handles check-ins and checkouts. Short visits are common, while longer stays are increasingly rare.
Hotel front desks show arriving and departing guests in Active and Queued. Reception staff handle one guest at a time; guests who have checked in appear in Rooms without keeping the desk busy for their whole stay.
Tourist bookings and resident lodgings receive a planned stay length. One, two, or three game days are most common; each extra day is less likely, with no fixed seven-day limit. Room charges stop at the stay's deadline, even if checkout is waiting for a receptionist. Guests may check in again for a new stay when a room is available and they can afford it.
Existing stays use their original arrival date. Each stay keeps its planned checkout date across updates; past payments remain unchanged.
