Unmet demand now shows on the market
When a city, port, airport or public-works yard cannot find a resource for sale anywhere, it now leaves a standing buy order on the exchange instead of quietly giving up. Sell into it and the order fills.
Cities, ports, airports, public-works yards and national carriers all buy resources to keep running. When nothing was for sale anywhere they simply gave up, and you had no way to see that a whole country wanted Steel or Jet Fuel.
They now leave a standing buy order on their nearest exchange. It rests there for seven game days, priced from what the resource has actually been trading at, and it carries a System badge in the order book so you can tell it from another player's bid.
What you can do with it
- Open any resource's order book and read the bid side. A System badge means a municipal or national buyer wants that resource and nobody is selling it.
- Sell into it. Producing and listing that resource fills the order at the bid, and the money is already set aside.
- If nobody fills it the order expires, and it comes back while the buyer still needs the resource.
Two market fixes
- A sell with greedy fill now settles at the bids it crosses. It used to settle at its own crossing price, which paid almost nothing per unit.
- Demolishing or closing a business now values its leftover stock at the market price of that resource, rather than at whichever bid happened to be resting. Stock with no market price at all still recovers nothing.
