Upgrades no longer close a building while materials are inbound
Ordering a permanent building upgrade no longer shuts the business down. It keeps producing, selling and taking bookings while its materials are delivered, and closes only once the construction crew starts work.
Starting a permanent upgrade commits the building: its lot space is reserved, it cannot be sold, demolished or leased away, and no second upgrade can begin. What it no longer does is stop the business.
- While materials are inbound the building keeps producing, keeps its retail and dining demand, keeps checking guests in, keeps counting toward HQ efficiency, and its automations keep running.
- When the crew starts the building closes for the length of the work, exactly as before, and reopens with the upgrade installed.
- A building waiting on upgrade materials now appears in both the Pending materials and Buildings views, and its Buildings card carries an upgrade badge so you can see what is coming.
- Cancelling an upgrade that never started work returns its materials and costs your business nothing — there is no closure to compensate for.
