When a market buy can't fill completely, the rest now waits in the order book at no more than the market price when you placed it. The leftover of any market order also trades at once with waiting orders it crosses.
When a market order can't fill completely, what is left stays in the order book as a limit order.
- Market buys now wait at no more than the market price when you placed them, which is also the amount your funds were set aside for. Before, a buy that found no matching ask could take the price of an older, dearer trade.
- The leftover of any market order is now matched right away against waiting orders it crosses at its new price, instead of waiting for another order to arrive.
