Leases renew automatically unless you cancel
Buildings
Quality of life
Land leases now always renew at the end of their term unless you cancel the renewal. You can cancel or undo that at any time from the building's overview.
Every land lease renews automatically when its term ends, for the same duration and with the same breach clauses, at the going rate. Your business keeps its site without you doing anything.
- Where: open a building. Its overview now shows the land lease: the rent, when the term ends and, shortly before then, the new monthly rate.
- Cancel renewal: choose it there to let the lease end instead. There is no penalty, and the business on the site moves out when the lease ends.
- Changed your mind: turn renewal back on at any time before the end date.
- Fixed: a lease could previously lapse at its end date if its renewal had never been quoted. It now renews like any other.
Ending a lease early is still done from Buildings → Leases and still applies the agreement's breach penalties.
