World map layers and resource explorer
World
UI
The world map now has switchable data layers — GDP, population, corporations, tax revenue, and natural resources — and every country shows its mineral deposits and biomes, so you can find where rare resources exist.
The World page's interactive map has been redesigned as a layered explorer.
- Map layers — switch the map between GDP, population, active corporations, tax revenue, and natural resources. Each layer colours countries by intensity and prints its value on the map.
- Natural resources — every country now lists its full endowment of mineral deposits (iron, coal, oil, and more) and biomes (farmland, forests, coastline). Pick a resource in the new resource explorer to highlight exactly which countries have it — resources found in only one country are marked as unique.
- Country panel — click any country to open a detail panel with its GDP, tax revenue, corporations, population, cities and regions, plus its complete resource list, and jump straight to the full economy profile.
- Country ranking — a sortable ranking list below the map tracks the active layer, and is the primary view on phones.
