Mark a Newswire story, without telling anyone when you read it
Newswire stories now carry two marks — Notable and Noted. You see your own choice instantly; everyone else's is shown only as a rounded band, and only hours later.
Two marks, and no comments. Each story now has a Notable and a Noted chip. Pick one, pick the other, or click the same one again to clear it. There is no text box: the Newswire reports what happened in the world, and a story is a permanent record rather than a thread.
Your own mark shows up straight away. Beside the chips you may also see something like "25+ players marked this" — that is everyone else, and it is deliberately vague in two ways at once.
It is rounded, never a live count, so no number ever narrows down to a handful of identifiable people. And it is delayed by several hours, so what you read never describes who is online right now. A live counter on a story published minutes ago would quietly publish everybody's play schedule. Your own click never moves the band you see.
Nobody is ever shown who marked a story — not on the story, not on a profile, not anywhere. Marks do not appear on your public profile either.
